Yes, it was a lie!! But this was just baggage searching and with nothing in there of value or consequence he was going to tough it out.

“Ok, Sir, You have a gift for ME?”

There it was brazen, just give me something, usually they took an alarm clock, a watch, a T- Shirt, something like that.

The guard unzipped the bag and opened it up, ready to have a good rummage.

This time Dave had a surprise, lurking at the top of the bag.

The security guard’s eyes widened as he saw the item on top…

He looked at Dave. Dave matched his gaze.

The security guard knew he was on a loser, and shut the bag.

“Have a good day, Sir!”

“I will , thank you, and good evening!”

Dave had seen this trick used by a friend of his, and he had wondered if it was effective…just that simple thing of packing a BIBLE right on top, as the first thing they see gives them a real dilemma.

They are basically all “Good God Fearing Christians” thanks, or maybe no thanks to the religious missionaries that traveled to Nigeria from the UK and other European countries a hundred of years ago, and when confronted by “The Good Book” it’s hard for them to reconcile basically stealing with The Book in such close proximity, plus of course you are stealing presumably from “Another Good Christian” and there will be penance required for such an act.

So they are screwed one way or another and usually abstain from taking their usual “Free Gift”.

“Nice one, at least that’s One for the Good guys …”
