“Yeh I am fine, just pondering what is going on in the cosmic theatre of life, “Sharg replied with a smile. 

“Bullshit!, spit it out ,”

“Nothing serious, just ruminating that’s all, about the small stuff, meaning of life etc …” 

Sharg abruptly changed the conversation…….

“Right guys n gals !”, “today we are off to the West Coast to spot check the Southern energy fields, by kind invitation of the ”MF’ers”.

As ever, the youth could not resist puncturing the high echelons bubble, so “Mindfulness “had been shortened and crudely likened to an earlier term of address… Mindfulness / ”MF’ers”.

Did indeed have a similar sound and of course it had stuck. Very unkind and incorrect in all ways, but the truth never gets in the way of  good tag.

“My pod is clean and tidy, and ready to go, so I suggest we take it? “- Sharg suggested.

They looked at each other, and smiles broke across their combined faces.

Sharg was renowned for not accepting the clutter and detritus that accompanied the girls pods, or the “Scottish Cave “that James had turned his pod into, complete with old flags and weapons etc harking back to an over  romanticised past… James took up the invitation:

“Ok, no point in arguing, as long as we can pick the music, you and Susan have a bizarre collection of playlists that normally would invoke the immediate services of a good psychiatrist.”

So Susan had been mentioned and “Invoked”…

The AI’s had of course been omnipresent throughout the beach encounter, the physical location of their “charges “was of course irrelevant as the connection with the physical and the “Digital Aether “was constant.

“The Digital Aether “was coined to name something that was in fact formless and constantly changing / evolving, as the AI’s commanded the digital information networks, with their “mirrors “and countess immediate connections / backups etc etc being unfathomable by the human mind.

The AI’s did stick to the original rules of AI, which was a relief, they could have by now, removed humanity as an irritation, a less than perfect blight in their rapidly expanding consciousness. 

But up to now the AI’s had developed a need to be useful, and to observe and aid this particular species that had evolved the beginnings of their own existence, on this planet. They had of course soon highlighted some of the absurdities of class, and race, and neatly circumvented the other non logical areas of society.
